Pranayama & Meditation

Pranayama & Meditation

This pranayama and meditation class offers a steady introduction to traditional breathing practices and simple methods of tranquil meditation. It’s a theory session that prepares you for practice only classes through the following week. Each Sunday session explores a weekly theme, so you can develop a clear understanding of how breath, posture and focused attention work together to settle the mind and support the nervous system. We aim to practise this pranayama technique every day for one week and then build on it week-by-week. In this way the practice can become deeper and more natural.

Paul explains each technique in a clear and accessible manner. He describes how the breath influences the body and mind and how different methods can shape energy and focus. After the explanation you are guided through a practical session where you can experience the technique directly. The pace is calm and the atmosphere is steady and supportive.

You can choose how to bring what you learn into your own routine:

Some people prefer to develop a self practice at home, at their own time, and return the following week ready for the next learning session.

Others enjoy joining Paul live online on two weekday mornings for practice only sessions. Paul will confirm the two morning sessions at the end of the Sunday class. The mid-week sessions are free, but it is essential that you attend the Sunday class so you understand what we are doing.

Both options allow you to progress at a rhythm that suits your lifestyle and your level of experience.

This class is suitable for all levels including complete beginners. It offers a gentle and steady foundation from which a regular breathing and meditation practice can grow naturally.

This class flows directly into Paul’s Yin and Yoga Nidra class at 9:30am. If you wish to join the Yin class please book in advance or you will be removed from the meeting automatically. If you do not plan to join please leave the meeting before 9:30am.
